Brazing Alloys
MBN develops high-purity copper-manganese-phosphorus (Cu-Mn-P) alloys tailored for both brazing and sintering applications. These alloys are engineered for tunable melting points, thanks to precise control of phosphorus content together with eutectic CuMn, making them ideal for thermal processes where flow behavior and melting range are critical.
In brazing, Cu-Mn-P alloys offer excellent wettability, strong adhesion, and the potential for flux-free joining, especially with stainless steel, copper, and ferrous substrates. In sintering, these alloys can function as activating phases or infiltration agents, improving densification and mechanical bonding, particularly in automotive components such as valve seats, filters, and gear assemblies.
Manganese contributes strength and oxidation resistance, while phosphorus lowers melting point and enhances deoxidation during processing. The high purity of MBN powders ensures consistent performance, clean microstructures, and strong, reliable joints.
These alloys are well-suited for use in automotive sintered parts, and high-performance metal joining and HVAC parts.
